I received my October swap package from Rebecca, and it was filled with lots of goodies.
She crocheted the candy corn, and filled it with candy corn. I love it. Makes me want to try to learn how to crochet, just one more time. The little pumpkin is filled with delicious chocolates (shh! that's a secret I'm not telling my family). Rebecca made three Halloween crackers for my kids. They each selected their favorite, and are anxiously awaiting Halloween so they can open them. I am going to have to look away when they do tear into them though, they are so sweet that the thought of destroying them makes me a little bit sad. Maybe I can talk them into opening them carefully. At least save the vintage images. We'll have to see about that. I also love the tags she made to decorate everything. The ghost is actually a pin! I'll be wearing him on Halloween.
Thanks, Rebecca! I love it all.
I sent her a few things as well.
A Halloween pendant and some candies, along with a few vintage finds.
When I found the crochet handbag book, I immediately thought of Rebecca. I have to say that I really enjoyed this swap. Sometimes the whole swapping thing really stresses me out. But this time round I let myself relax and enjoy the process. With a swap partner as nice as Rebecca, it would have been silly to worry.
This weekend was pretty busy, filled with masquerade parties, and battle reenactments. Maybe tomorrow I can post some pictures. Today I wanted to show off a few more free finds. My friend Allison turned me on to Craigslist, and I am sorry to say that I now have a brand new way to waste way too much time. I love browsing the listings. It can be a bit addicting. Yesterday I saw a posting for free stuff being set out to the curb in our town. It was only a few miles away, so I hopped into the car and went treasure hunting.
If this is what they are throwing away, I would love to see what they are keeping! I actually brought home more, but didn't take pictures yet.
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
What lovely treasures!
